The Best Up-Cycled Sustainable Garden Project competition is an opportunity for those that are keen to re-use and recycle to get creative outdoors in the Garden. Have you made any new pieces for your garden using recyclable items, such as new plant pots to hanging baskets that you have created. This competition was open to anyone 16 and under.
The Ornamental Ironwork Lockdown Creations competition is an opportunity for anyone to get involved with the virtual show. Showcasing the Farriery and Ironworks sections at the show it is amazing to see what you can create from pieces of metal and also from horseshoes. It must have been handmade and not bought as a finished item - The competition was open to anyone of any age.
The Young Handlers competition is an opportunity for the next generation of showmen and women to showcase themselves and their stock. Rules for the competition are as follows: - The video is to be between 1–2 minutes long - Remember to record the video in landscape orientation - The video must include; you showing your chosen animal or pet in their usual format of showcasing the animal, your name, age and an interesting fact about the animal you are showing. - The competition is open to anyone 16 and under - The competition is open for you to show any animal or pet.
The Most Creative Fruit or Vegetable Animal competition is an opportunity for our younger competitors to get creative at home with the simplest of items that you have in the kitchen. Whether you use a bright white curly cauliflower or some deep shiny red tomatoes, send us a picture of your best and unusual creation. Rules for the competition are as follows: - Send us a picture of your fruit or vegetable animal - The competition is open to anyone 16 and under
The 3 decorated ‘Bee’ themed biscuits competition is an opportunity for children to get involved with activites in the kitchen. Whether you have decorated Bee's onto your biscuits or made Beehive shaped biscuits it's entirely up to you. The competition is to showcase the Honey section that is held during the Royal Welsh Show. Rules for the competition are as follows: - Send us a picture of your decorated biscuits.
The RWAS Award for the Best Student of Agriculture
The RWAS Award for the Best Student of Agriculture at the Institute of Biological, Environmental & Rural Sciences, Aberystwyth University. Candidates must have studied Agriculture or a programme with a significant component of Agriculture to Degree, Diploma or Certificate level and should have been born and bred in Wales.
FWGS Grassland Management Competition 2021
The 2021 All Wales Grassland Management Competition run by the Federation of Welsh Grassland Societies in conjunction with the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society and kindly sponsored by HSBC is a very strongly contested competition; and despite recent circumstances, this year was no exception.
